The client contacted us due to issues of their PFC (Power Factor Correction) failing.
To install a new PFC they needed to connect a new 800amp supply to the existing switch gear. Unfortunately due to the age and condition of the existing equipment no one would risk turning off the main switch in case it would not turn back on again.
We worked alongside the client and helped design a new switch room with new switch gear complete with a new modern PFC unit integrated into the switchgear panels.
We worked closely with the client and made sure the new equipment was installed and connected and existing supplies moved onto the new switchgear all within the timescales of the arranged summer factory shutdown with no inconvenience to the clients operation of the factory.
